The final lockage before the shutdown will take place on Monday, 26 May, until 07:00, with the possibility of off-schedule passages prior to that time. Regular operation will resume with the first scheduled lockage on Thursday, 29 May at 07:30, from the Vistula Lagoon to the Gulf of Gdańsk.
Port infrastructure, including berthing quays, will remain accessible throughout the maintenance period.
Operational guidelines for vessels
Outside of the maintenance window, eight lockages are conducted daily according to the following schedule:
From the Vistula Lagoon to the Gulf of Gdańsk:
- 07:30, 10:30, 13:30, 16:30
From the Gulf of Gdańsk to the Vistula Lagoon:
- 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:45
Recreational vessels, including yachts, must arrive at the Nowy Świat Port at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled lockage time. Additionally, all lock passages must be notified at least one hour in advance to the Duty Officer of the Nowy Świat Harbour Master's Office via VHF channel 68 or by calling:
- +48 58 347 39 72
- +48 58 347 39 76
Upon approach to the port heads—either from the Gulf of Gdańsk or the Vistula Lagoon—vessels must contact the Duty Officer again on VHF 68 or by phone to receive final instructions.
All vessels are strongly advised to carry a VHF radio with access to channel 68. In the absence of a radio, crews must comply with megaphone announcements and visual signals displayed on information boards at the port.
Speed restrictions in effect
▪️ 5 knots – from port heads to the lock
▪️ 3 knots – within the lock chamber
Mariners are urged to plan accordingly and adhere strictly to operational protocols and port regulations during this temporary service interruption.
