Saab Secures Swedish Order for 22 Additional Combat Boats Worth SEK 900 Million

Saab has received a significant order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for 22 new combat boats, valued at approximately SEK 900 million. The contract was booked in Q2 2025 and marks a continued investment in Sweden’s naval capabilities.

The combat boats will be produced at Saab’s Docksta shipyard, a long-standing facility specializing in advanced naval platforms. Deliveries are scheduled to take place continuously over the coming years.

- This order represents a substantial boost to Sweden’s maritime defense. We are proud that Saab’s combat boats continue to play a vital role in strengthening the country’s security, said Mats Wicksell, head of Saab’s business area Kockums.

The Docksta shipyard has been manufacturing combat boats for the Swedish Armed Forces since the late 1980s. Over the decades, hundreds of units have been produced for both domestic use and export markets. The most recent order from Sweden was placed in June 2024, comprising ten combat boats.

These versatile combat boats support a wide range of missions, including coastal patrol, rapid troop transport, and special operations. Their advanced design and multi-role capability make them a key asset in modern naval defense.
