Polish technology powers zero-emission public transport. AREX secures largest municipal contract
Solutions delivered by WB Group for public transport in Włocławek reflect the accelerating investment trend in zero-emission infrastructure across Polish cities. The group’s subsidiary - AREX - has completed its largest contract to date for a municipal transport operator, supplying electric bus charging stations to Municipal Transport Company in Włocławek.

The project covered the delivery of 16 depot-based DCX charging stations, including twelve units with 120 kW capacity and four rated at 90 kW. The scope of work included full turnkey execution - from delivery and installation to integration with existing depot infrastructure, deployment of management software, and operator training.
From a business perspective, the key value driver lies in the integration of charging infrastructure with a dedicated management system. This enables real-time monitoring, energy optimization, and flexible adjustment of operations to the operator’s needs. Such system-level solutions are increasingly becoming a prerequisite for scaling electric bus fleets in urban environments.
AREX, specializing in e-conversion and transport system technologies, develops its solutions based on a domestic supply chain. All components - from mechanical structures to electronics and software - are designed and manufactured in Poland, ensuring quality control and responsiveness to market demands.
The Włocławek deployment highlights a broader shift in the public transport sector, where infrastructure investment is becoming as critical as fleet electrification itself. Charging systems are now a key enabler of zero-emission transition, directly impacting the pace at which cities can expand electric vehicle operations.
An additional strength of the project is the seven-year warranty period, combined with full lifecycle technical support. In high-utilization urban transport systems, reliability and operational continuity are decisive factors in evaluating infrastructure investments.
The contract reinforces the growing role of Polish technology providers in the modernization of public transport, demonstrating their capability to deliver integrated, scalable solutions for urban mobility.
