Mixed precipitation and freezing fog

On Thursday, February 12, weather over Pomerania and the coast will be influenced by a low-pressure system with active fronts. The night from Wednesday to Thursday and the early morning may bring intense freezing fog and localized mist, reducing visibility on roads and complicating maritime navigation.

– On Thursday, we expect intermittent and continuous periods of freezing rain, sleet, and snow of variable intensitysays Mariusz Jasłowski, editor-in-chief of Meteo24.com.pl. – Daytime temperatures will range from -1°C to +5°C, with wind gusts reaching 30–60 km/h. Atmospheric pressure will be falling, reaching 1006-1020 hPa in Gdańsk by noon.

Ice hazards but no surprises on Friday the 13th

Friday will remain hazardous, particularly for drivers and sailors navigating coastal areas. – Freezing rain and sleet will occur locally and intermittently, and full cloud cover may limit visibility – Jasłowski emphasizes.

Daytime temperatures will range from +1°C to +2°C, dropping to around 0–1°C overnight. Along the coast, wind gusts could reach 60–80 km/h, increasing the risk of icy roads. Pressure will fluctuate around 983–984 hPa.

– Although Friday falls on February 13 and many are superstitious, the weather should not come as a surprise – adds the meteorologist. – Conditions are fully predictable and safe for those monitoring current warnings.

Weekend weather – brief improvement and more sunshine

After challenging conditions on Thursday and Friday, the weekend will bring a temporary improvement in weather.

– A more stable air mass will arrive, atmospheric pressure will rise to 1006–1020 hPa, and the region will see some sunshine and clear intervals, ideal for seaside walks – says Mariusz Jasłowski in an interview with Daily Mare.

Temperatures will remain well below zero, and the wind will be moderately strong at times, with gusts of 40–60 km/h, especially along the coast.

– This weekend improvement will not last long – adds the Meteo24.com.pl meteorologist. – After Sunday, further dynamic changes are expected, and a coastal surge is forecast in the seaside belt. Sailors and residents of coastal areas should continue to monitor weather bulletins closely.
