On 11 October 2025, PGZ Naval Shipyard in Gdynia opened its gates for the annual Shipyard Family Day, an event dedicated to integrating the wider shipbuilding community. Employees, their families, and retired shipyard specialists gathered on-site, creating a unique opportunity to experience the industrial environment from a more personal perspective.

A key attraction of this year’s event was a guided tour of the shipyard’s operational areas aboard a double-decker bus. Participants were given rare access to zones typically restricted due to ongoing naval maintenance and modernization projects for the Polish Navy. This initiative offered families valuable insight into the scale, complexity, and strategic importance of the shipyard’s daily operations within the national defence sector.
The event also featured a sports engagement zone with a FIFA tournament supported by Arka Gdynia players, as well as activity areas operated by Arka Basketball and Arka Rugby sections. Dedicated entertainment zones were prepared for children, alongside a retro arcade area appealing to classic gaming enthusiasts. A grill station and a stand with branded shipyard merchandise further contributed to the event’s atmosphere.
With excellent weather ensuring full execution of the programme, the 2025 edition of the Shipyard Family Day reaffirmed that PGZ Naval Shipyard is more than just a key industrial asset in Poland’s maritime and defence infrastructure – it is a community built on continuity, expertise, and shared commitment across generations.
