During the night of 25–26 October 2025, the SAR standby crew from the Darłowo Air Group carried out another demanding search and rescue operation over the Baltic Sea. The mission, performed by a W-3WARM Anakonda helicopter, was the 19th SAR operation completed by the Darłowo team this year.

The crew responded to a medical emergency on board the ferry Stena Ebba, sailing between Poland and Sweden. Despite severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and winds exceeding 30 knots, the helicopter successfully reached the vessel, and the injured passenger was hoisted aboard.
The casualty was then airlifted to Gdynia-Babie Doły airfield, where he was handed over to a medical rescue team for further treatment. The operation was supported in the area by the rescue vessel m/v Bryza, providing surface assistance and coordination.
Since its establishment, the Darłowo SAR Air Group has conducted 825 search and rescue missions, assisting 444 people in distress at sea.
Thanks to the professionalism and readiness of Polish SAR crews, Baltic maritime safety continues to rely on rapid air rescue operations, often carried out in some of the most challenging weather conditions.
