Black Sea under scrutiny: Turkey convenes regional military talks on post-ceasefire security
This Tuesday and Wednesday, Turkey will host a meeting of military representatives from several Black Sea nations to discuss regional security in the event of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday.

According to the ministry, the talks will take place at the Turkish Naval Forces Headquarters. While the specific participating countries were not disclosed, officials confirmed that neither Ukraine nor Russia will be involved in the discussions. The meeting is expected to focus on security arrangements in the aftermath of a potential ceasefire agreement between the two warring nations.
The announcement comes as tensions remain high in the region. On Sunday, Ukrainian authorities reported that at least 32 people were killed in a Russian missile strike on the northeastern city of Sumy. Russia reportedly used two ballistic missiles in the attack. That same day, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump extended for another year the sanctions targeting the Russian Federation, originally imposed by former President Joe Biden.
