Energa Wytwarzanie and Naviga Wind Power launch advanced blade protection system at Karcino Wind Farm
Energa Wytwarzanie, a subsidiary of ORLEN Group’s Energa, has completed an upgrade of one of its turbines at the Karcino Wind Farm to test a new generation of leading-edge protection technology developed by Naviga Wind Power. The system is designed to enhance blade aerodynamics, mitigate erosion effects caused by harsh coastal conditions, and extend operational lifespan by up to five years.

The Naviga Leading Edge Performance solution features a multilayer material architecture engineered for durability and aerodynamic efficiency. Its streamlined installation process enables rapid on-site deployment, reducing service windows and preserving energy output continuity—an essential factor in high-capacity wind assets operating in maritime climates.
This initiative not only strengthens Energa’s maintenance capabilities within the Baltic wind corridor but also contributes to the development of domestic technological competence. By partnering with Naviga Wind Power, the company aims to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers and pave the way for a more resilient, locally integrated offshore wind supply chain. Performance assessments and inspection data will be collected through 2026 to evaluate scalability across other wind infrastructure.
