Bartosz Szydłowski crowned Polish eSailing Champion and tops the 2025 series

The 2025 Polish eSailing Championship concluded on Sunday, October 26, marking the end of a thrilling two-day regatta that also served as the final qualifying round for this year’s Grand Final. The event brought together 33 of Poland’s top virtual sailors for 12 intensely contested races, with Bartosz Szydłowski ultimately claiming the national title and securing his position as leader of the overall series.

After the first day of racing, Szydłowski sat in sixth place, trailing the leaders by seven points. However, a flawless performance on Sunday—marked by sharp starts, clean wind, and laser focus—propelled him to victory.

- After Saturday I was sixth, seven points behind the leaders. My plan for Sunday was simple: quick starts, clear air, no unnecessary duels, and my favourite music in my headphones. After four races, I made up the deficit,” said Szydłowski. “Before the final race, I only needed to finish ahead of Mieszko Mórawski—and I did.

Mieszko Mórawski took second place, with Krzysztof Warywoda finishing third. The trio dominated the national circuit this season: Warywoda won the PZŻ eCup, Mórawski triumphed in the Autumn eCup, and Szydłowski added the Polish Championship title to his record. Final rankings were determined by cumulative performance across the three main events.

Grand Final set for November 15 in Warsaw

The 2024 eSailing Series Grand Final will be held live in Warsaw on November 15, featuring the top ten competitors of the season. The final results will depend solely on head-to-head racing in the studio—previous points will not carry over.

The confirmed finalists are: Bartosz Szydłowski, Krzysztof Warywoda, Mieszko Mórawski, Paweł Turczynowicz, Jan Tymowski, Szymon Pasiut, Andrzej Trella, Andrzej Stępkowski, Kamil Radkiewicz, and Michał Kowalski.

Fans will be able to watch the live broadcast on the official YouTube and Facebook channels of the Polish Sailing Association (PZŻ), with expert commentary from members of the National Sailing Team.

Road to the eSailing World Championship

The Polish eSailing Series also serves as a pathway to international competition, including the eSailing World Championship. This year’s global finals took place during Gdynia Sailing Days, with Bartosz Szydłowski proudly representing Poland.

- The road to the World Championship is much tougher this year, admits Szydłowski. - Poland has only one wildcard, which allows us to field a player in the semifinals, playoffs, and the eSailing Nations Cup.

The global qualification system consists of eight elimination rounds. The top 24 players advance automatically, with six additional spots coming from the playoff phase. One female sailor qualifies through the Steering The Course women’s regatta, and eight national teams receive wildcards. The overall leader of the qualifying ranking also earns a direct berth to the World Final.

- I’m currently eighth in the ranking, 3.7 points behind after the first round. With seven stages to go, everything is still possible, says Szydłowski with confidence.

With the Grand Final fast approaching, eSailing fans can look forward to a high-stakes showdown in Warsaw—an event that promises to be the highlight of Poland’s 2025 virtual sailing season.
