Rafał Trzaskowski leads at sea, Karol Nawrocki trails in polls. Who will be president?

Rafał Trzaskowski has emerged as the clear favourite among offshore voters, according to results from five maritime election commissions operating on ships and oil platforms in the Baltic Sea. Trzaskowski received 61.05% of votes (105 ballots), while Karol Nawrocki secured 38.95% (67 ballots).

His strongest showing came aboard the STS Fryderyk Chopin, where he won 95.65% of the vote (22 to 1). He also led on the Baltic Beta platform (60.98%) and narrowly outpaced Nawrocki on Petrobaltic, Petro Giant, and Petro Monitor.

While the total number of voters in these offshore locations is modest, the results indicate a noticeable preference for Trzaskowski among crews working in Poland’s strategic maritime and energy sectors.

Nationally, however, the presidential race remains on a knife’s edge. According to the exit poll, Trzaskowski holds a razor-thin lead at 50.3%, with Nawrocki close behind at 49.7%, based on a high turnout of 72.8%.

As Poland awaits the official results from the National Electoral Commission, the maritime vote—though limited in scope—adds a symbolic current to the broader political tide.
