Radio alarm over the Baltic: Darłowo SAR crews respond in rescue operation. "Another life saved"
A mayday call disrupted routine operations on the Baltic Sea when a vessel reported rapidly taking on water approximately 6 nautical miles off the Polish coast. The radio distress signal — “We’re taking on water, need assistance” — was immediately picked up by maritime communication channels.

Search and Rescue crews from the Maritime Rescue Substation (BSR) in Darłowo responded without delay. Rescue units R17 and R26 were dispatched to the scene under emergency protocol.
Upon arrival, the SAR teams found the vessel in distress with engine failure and a compromised hull, leading to significant water ingress. Thanks to quick technical support and coordinated action, the crew was able to restart the engine. Under SAR escort, the vessel was safely guided back to port while dewatering operations were carried out en route.
No injuries were reported, and the crew remained safe throughout the procedure.
This incident underscores the importance of a swift SAR response and effective maritime communication. It’s yet another example of the professionalism and preparedness of Poland’s coastal rescue services.

Co wy wypisujecie. Ciekawe kto wam udzielił takich informacji. Akurat to ja byłem tym armatorem .wielkie dzięki dla pani bosman i służby Sar. Tak naprawdę to jeszcze były inne jednostki które nas eskortowały. To był Patryk z Ali. Dzięki mojej załodze która nie spanikowała i wykonywała moje polecenia udało się wylać wodę z komory silnika . Dzięki znakomitemu akumulatorowi produkcji USA który działał mimo tego że był całkowicie zanurzony silnik diesla odpalił i dzięki temu udało bezpieczne dopłynąć do portu. Oczywiście pewniej czuliśmy się w otoczeniu ratowników SAR i łódki Patryka.wypadki się zdarzają tu niestety zawiodła technika uszczelnienia setki puściło. Jest to awaria której niestety nie da się przewidzieć. Fantastycznie jest wiedzieć że można zawsze liczyć na jednostki ratunkowe i oczywiście kolegów pozdrawiam Zygmunt
