Build history: ORP Orzeł comes to life in COBI Bricks
Poland’s legendary submarine ORP Orzeł will soon be available as a construction brick model. COBI Bricks has announced that in January 2026, it will release a 1:300 scale ORP Orzeł set, allowing enthusiasts and collectors to recreate one of the most daring naval escapes of World War II.

On the night of September 17–18, 1939, ORP Orzeł, interned in Tallinn, Estonia, and deprived of maps and part of its armament, managed to break free under the command of Captain Jan Grudziński. The submarine then navigated a dramatic route across the Baltic Sea and the Danish Straits, ultimately reaching the British port of Rosyth, where it continued fighting alongside the Allies.
The new COBI model is not only a collector’s item but also an engaging way to introduce younger audiences to one of the most remarkable episodes in Polish naval history.
The company’s slogan – “History you can build” – resonates particularly well with ORP Orzeł, giving everyone the chance to reconstruct this historic vessel brick by brick.
