Following the collision, the vessel left the scene and continued its journey. Officers from the Szczecin Water Police Unit intercepted the barge and its crew on the Cegielinka Canal. Upon boarding, they administered a breathalyzer test to the captain, which revealed he was under the influence of alcohol. The man was taken into custody and transferred to the Szczecin Dąbie Police Station for further investigation.

The Maritime Office in Szczecin, through the Harbour Master's Office, will lead the inquiry into the damage to port infrastructure. The incident raises serious concerns regarding navigational safety and compliance with maritime regulations.

The matter is likely to have legal and financial repercussions for the vessel's operator, including potential compensation claims and administrative penalties.
