Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” begins construction of new buoy tender for the Maritime Office in Szczecin
A steel-cutting ceremony was held today at Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan”, marking the official start of construction of a new buoy tender for the Maritime Office in Szczecin. The traditional event, involving the cutting of the first steel plates for the vessel’s hull, formally inaugurates the building process.

The ceremony was attended by Arkadiusz Marchewka, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The contract for the project was signed in April this year, with a value exceeding PLN 30 million. The delivery schedule foresees completion within 18 months.
The new buoy tender will serve the maintenance and management of navigational aids within the jurisdiction of the Maritime Office in Szczecin, covering both ports and fairways. Its operational scope will include deploying and retrieving buoys, as well as maintaining permanent floating aids such as beacons and dolphins. In addition, the vessel will be capable of supporting icebreaking operations.

- overall beam: 8.30 m
- height to main deck: 2.70 m
- design draft: 1.80 m
- construction draft: 2.20 m
- service speed: 10 knots

The addition of this modern buoy tender will significantly enhance the operational capacity of the Maritime Office in Szczecin and further improve navigational safety in the region.
