Advanced infrastructure and integration progress
The visit was led by Marcin Ryngwelski, President of the Shipyard’s Management Board, Beata Koniarska, Management Board Member, and Grzegorz Sowa, Director of Naval Projects Division at PGZ SA. The delegation presented the shipyard’s state-of-the-art production infrastructure, including the Hull Fabrication Hall, where work is currently underway on the lead vessel, ORP Wicher.
Discussions focused on the integration status of core combat systems and the roadmap for upcoming project milestones. Secretary Tomczyk was briefed on the construction progress of both the first and second ships in the three-vessel series.
Strategic importance for national maritime security
The meeting also addressed the shipyard’s expanding industrial capabilities and its long-term role in the Technical Modernization Programme of the Polish Navy. The Miecznik initiative is recognized as a cornerstone in enhancing Poland’s maritime security and a key driver for the domestic naval and defence industries.
Secretary Tomczyk’s visit underlines the strategic significance of the PGZ-led programs for the national defence architecture and the broader development of Poland’s shipbuilding sector.
