Sails 2025 - Szczecin riding the wave of joy and colours
It was three days that once again proved Szczecin is Poland’s true maritime capital. Sails 2025 – the city’s flagship summer festival – is now behind us, leaving in its wake thousands of smiles, countless photographs, and memories that will linger long after the last sails were furled.

A sea of tall ships on the Oder
The Oder waterfront turned into a living postcard of maritime tradition. Thirty tall ships from across Europe moored along Wały Chrobrego and Łasztownia, each with its own story and character – from the elegant Swedish HMS Gladan to the majestic Santa Barbara Anna. Ten vessels opened their decks to visitors, while others set off for short cruises, offering nearly a thousand lucky guests the chance to admire Szczecin from the water. White sails reflected in the river created a scene as if taken from a seafaring legend.
Stages alive with music and energy
The musical line-up proved that Sails is not only about maritime heritage, but also a festival of culture.
- Piotr Banach celebrated his anniversary on stage alongside Renata Przemyk, Wojciech Waglewski, and Kamil Bednarek.
- Grubson and TEDE electrified the crowds with their rap and hip-hop beats.
- Sunday belonged to legends: T.Love, De Mono and Happysad closed the event with rock anthems.
On the shanty stage, maritime and folk music reigned supreme – from Poland’s “Stare Dzwony” to international ensembles. As the night fell, Łasztownia turned into an open-air dancefloor with electronic sounds under the stars.
A family festival on both banks
A temporary pontoon bridge connected both banks of the Oder, linking family zones, creative workshops, and children’s games. Youngsters took part in “junior sailor training,” built ship models, and enjoyed interactive shows. For thrill-seekers, amusement rides and the giant Wheel of Szczecin provided adrenaline and panoramic views of the illuminated waterfront.
Global flavours and craft brews
Food trucks offered a culinary voyage across the globe – from Indian and Mexican cuisine to seafood and fish burgers. The “Market under the Sails” featured regional delicacies, maritime-themed handicrafts, and souvenirs, while the Craft Beer Zone became a hotspot for enthusiasts of artisan brewing.
A celebration that brings people together
Sails 2025 was once again a festival that transcended generations and interests. Sailing enthusiasts, families, and tourists from Poland and abroad found their place here. For three days, Szczecin became a meeting point, a cultural crossroads, and a joyful stage for maritime life.
It was a celebration full of colours, music, and laughter – proof that this city truly lives by the water. And the only question left is: can anyone imagine a Szczecin summer without Sails?
