Orlen and Naftogaz sign LNG supply contract for 300 mcm of U.S. gas in Q1 2026
Orlen has concluded a gas supply contract with Naftogaz of Ukraine for 300 million cubic meters of natural gas sourced from U.S. LNG, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2026. The agreement stems from commitments made during the P-TEC transatlantic cooperation summit held in Athens in early November 2025.

The deal was finalized following an exceptionally swift negotiation process.
- Only a few days passed between signing the letter of intent with Naftogaz and concluding the contract. During this time we clarified all details and secured the necessary corporate approvals. This would not have been possible without mutual trust and a strong understanding of each partner’s objectives. Our cooperation enhances the region’s energy security and supports further business development and market growth for both companies, said Robert Soszyński, Orlen’s Chief Operating Officer.
Naftogaz emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership.
- Thanks to our cooperation with Orlen, Ukraine will receive 600 million cubic meters of U.S. LNG this year alone. We expect total LNG imports from the United States to reach 1 billion cubic meters in 2026. We are expanding import capabilities and diversifying supply routes to strengthen Ukraine’s energy security. We appreciate the trust placed in us by our Polish partners, stated Sergii Koretskyi, CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Under the contract, Orlen will deliver gas from three LNG cargoes originating in the United States. The company will oversee the entire supply chain, leveraging its own LNG carrier fleet and regasification capacity bookings. With a diversified and flexible gas procurement portfolio, Orlen continues to expand its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe’s energy markets and position itself as a significant LNG player.
Since launching permanent commercial cooperation with Naftogaz in 2025, Orlen has already supplied 600 million cubic meters of gas to the Ukrainian market. The newly signed agreement further strengthens bilateral ties and may pave the way for additional contracts in the region.
