During the patrol, over 100 hailings were conducted to establish contact with passing ships, ensuring enhanced situational awareness in the region. Speaking about the operation, Captain Adil Tüfekçi stated: “By working closely with airborne and submarine units from our allies, we were able to significantly improve maritime awareness. Every participating unit played a crucial role in this success.”
The mission also included a passing exercise with the Italian Navy’s ITS Alpino, strengthening interoperability among NATO forces. With the Mediterranean being a vital corridor for global trade, Operation Sea Guardian remains a key component in deterring security threats and countering potential terrorist activities at sea.
