Successful candidates will serve in Gdańsk, Krynica Morska, Kołobrzeg, Świnoujście, and Szczecin.
Recruitment and requirements – how to join MOSG
The selection procedure includes submitting application documents, a qualification interview combined with a general knowledge test, a physical fitness test, psychological evaluation, and a security clearance process as required by law. Candidates who pass the medical commission confirming their physical and mental fitness will attend several weeks of basic training before taking up their duties in direct border protection.
Former Border Guard and other uniformed service officers may also apply. Those reapplying within one year of leaving the service are required only to undergo an interview and medical commission. After longer breaks – up to five years – an additional psychological test is required.
Importantly, candidates without secondary education may still be admitted if they possess specialist qualifications, licenses, or professional skills relevant to the needs of the Border Guard.
Service conditions and pay in the Border Guard
A contract of service is signed for a period of three to five years, with a maximum of two contracts allowed. The first 12 months of the initial contract constitute a probationary period.
Newly admitted contract officers under the age of 26, with no prior service, can expect a net salary of approximately PLN 6,000 per month, plus a seniority allowance, a “13th salary,” and other statutory benefits.
No later than six months before the end of the contract, officers with at least secondary or vocational education may apply for permanent appointment, provided they receive a positive result in a psychophysiological examination.
Scope of duties – what awaits contract officers
Contract officers will support border operations, conduct patrols, surveillance, intervention duties, escort individuals as required, and prevent illegal border crossings or other unlawful actions.
Continuous recruitment – join the Maritime Border Guard Unit
Recruitment is open on a rolling basis. Detailed information on the process, required documents, and specializations available can be found on the Maritime Border Guard Unit’s website under the “Recruitment” tab, as well as on the new recruitment portal: https://rekrutacja.strazgraniczna.pl.
