Poland’s Kamil Manowiecki seals dominant win at WingFoil Racing World Cup Finals in Brazil
The 2025 WingFoil Racing World Cup concluded in Jericoacoara, Brazil, with an outstanding performance from Poland’s Kamil Manowiecki of the Sopot Sailing Club. Showing remarkable consistency and speed, Manowiecki won more than half of all races throughout the week and remained at the top of the leaderboard from day one.

Strong and steady winds allowed race officers to run a varied and intensive program, mixing long-distance challenges with short-course sprints. According to Manowiecki, maintaining top physical condition and managing recovery between sessions played a decisive role in his success.
The medal series brought together the top nine competitors along with the holder of the “Golden Ticket” earned in the long-distance race. Entering the grand final as the overall leader, Manowiecki carried two advantage points and needed just one more race win to secure the title. He delivered emphatically, breaking away early and finishing with a commanding lead.
The Brazilian victory secured his second consecutive World Cup overall silver, as he once again finished the season behind France’s Mathis Ghio, the undefeated benchmark of the class since 2022. Manowiecki was the sole Polish athlete to reach the podium in this year’s series.
In the women’s fleet, Katarzyna Trautman placed 6th overall, while last year’s bronze medalist, Karolina Kluszczyńska, finished 8th after missing several events. Italy’s Maddalena Maria Spanu claimed the overall women’s title.
The 2025 season marked a turning point for Formula Wing: the debut World Championships in Sardinia, the introduction of Youth and Masters categories, and—most significantly—the class’s admission into World Sailing in November. This milestone brings Formula Wing a step closer to future Olympic inclusion.
