Grupa Azoty and Orlen: extension of cooperation and compounding certification
Grupa Azoty S.A. and Orlen S.A. have extended the agreement signed on January 16 to May 12. This document, also concluded with Grupa Azoty Police S.A. and Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A., provides for the continuation of cooperation to agree on the terms of a potential transaction, including the possibility of Orlen acquiring all or part of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins shares.

This agreement refers to the cooperation and stabilization agreement, signed on December 19 of the previous year between Grupa Azoty, Orlen, Hyundai Engineering Co., LTD., and the Korean Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation. This agreement has also been extended to May 12.
Further negotiations aim to develop common principles for implementing investments related to the activities of Grupa Azoty Polyolefins. For the local chemical industry, this may mean new development opportunities and strengthening the competitive position in both the domestic and international markets.
New opportunities for Grupa Azoty Compounding
Grupa Azoty Compounding has obtained the prestigious IATF 16949:2016 certificate, confirming the highest quality standards for the use of modified plastics in the automotive industry. The certificate indicates that Grupa Azoty Compounding's production standards meet strict criteria regarding precision, reliability, and compliance with automotive industry expectations.
– With this certification, we strengthen our position as a supplier of modified plastics for the automotive sector. It opens up new opportunities for cooperation with global manufacturers and suppliers, and above all, enhances the competitiveness of our plastics business – says Andrzej Dawidowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A., responsible for the plastics segment.
The certification process consisted of three stages: an initial audit, a detailed certification process, and the final obtaining of the certificate. The entire process lasted several months, and its positive conclusion is the result of intensive training and internal audits.
– The positive decision after completing the process confirms that the strategy we have adopted and our production standards meet the highest requirements of the automotive industry – emphasizes Dariusz Cholewa, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Compounding.
