This unique training experience allowed the participants to gain firsthand insight into the daily operations of a modern ferry, with a special focus on maritime safety procedures. The agenda included an in-depth introduction to onboard fire protection systems—covering passenger areas, cargo decks, and the engine room—guided by the ship’s experienced crew.
The initiative highlights Polferries’ commitment to maritime education and safety awareness, particularly among the next generation of emergency responders. Through real-life exposure to fire prevention systems and the complex logistics of shipboard operations, the young firefighters were able to deepen their understanding of emergency protocols in the maritime environment.
By opening its decks to young professionals in training, Polferries continues to foster cross-sector collaboration between maritime transport and public safety education—building bridges between sea and shore.
