Tailor-made to meet ExxonMobil’s operational requirements, the new units deliver enhanced passenger capacity, optimized comfort, improved energy efficiency and robust technical reliability. Drawing on Bourbon Mobility’s 15 years of operational experience in Angola, the vessels represent a significant step forward compared to the current 32-meter crewliners in service.
Key features include:
- seating for 60 passengers with upgraded comfort,
- 18 m² of foredeck space for small parcels,
- a redesigned navigation bridge with improved visibility and ergonomics,
- an integrated Energy Flow Monitoring System (EFMS) from the construction stage.
Designed by French naval engineering firm MAURIC, the crewboats combine performance and fuel efficiency, offering cruising speeds of up to 38 knots and a 10–15% reduction in fuel consumption versus the previous generation. Deliveries to Angola are scheduled for 2027.
- This agreement confirms the strength of our partnership with ExxonMobil and the relevance of our customized offer. With this new vessel, we are reaffirming our ability to innovate in order to support our customers’ operational and environmental requirements, while maintaining reliable and sustainable technical solutions, commented Nicolas Elizon, Director of Operations & New Buildings at Bourbon Mobility.
The new units will join a fleet of five Surfer vessels already operating on Block 15, reinforcing Bourbon Offshore’s position as a reference partner for major international oil companies by combining technical reliability, safety and environmental performance.
