The agreement formalizes and deepens a long-standing collaboration that includes technical, research, and educational activities, particularly in:
- the development and maintenance of naval simulators and training systems (including the Engine Room Simulator and Underwater Weapons Simulator),
- the creation of virtual and mixed reality environments for current and future naval platforms such as Miecznik-class frigates, Kormoran II minehunters, Orkan-class missile boats, Ślązak, and future submarine projects,
- the implementation of additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies in the repair and modernization of maritime military systems,
- joint use of chemical and physico-chemical laboratories (AMW and WTM 1st Regional Logistics Base) for specialized research and accreditation purposes,
- and structured knowledge exchange and joint training in the field of logistics support for naval assets.
The agreement also outlines mutual participation in specialist training programs: AMW cadets and officers will attend IWsp SZ-run sessions, while armed forces personnel and civilian staff will participate in courses offered by the Naval Academy.
In a further sign of deepening ties, the Head of the Naval Technology Directorate (STM) will now represent the Inspectorate on the AMW Council for Impartiality in Product Conformity Assessment, reinforcing quality assurance and certification standards across new naval systems.
The agreement was coordinated by:
– Cmdr. (Res.) Dr. Eng. Gustaw Michalec, Head of Science and Development at AMW,
– and Cmdr. Wojciech Szymczak, Head of Standardization and Support at the Naval Technology Directorate, IWsp SZ.
This strategic partnership not only enhances Poland’s naval training and logistical capabilities, but also positions both institutions at the forefront of technological innovation, inter-institutional cooperation, and the modernization of the Polish Navy’s operational infrastructure.
