Ørsted Poland as a strategic offshore wind hub

Ørsted Poland employs over 800 professionals and serves as one of the group’s key operational and competence hubs in Europe. The organization covers a broad range of functions, including Finance, Digital Technologies, Procurement, HR, the EPCO Engineering Centre, and the offshore wind business.

The Warsaw office reflects Ørsted’s strong diversity profile, with employees representing 33 nationalities and women accounting for 47% of the workforce.

Leadership change at a pivotal moment for offshore wind

This new role is both a great honour and a significant responsibility. Ørsted Poland is an important operational and competence centre supporting both local and global energy transition efforts. Each of our teams plays a vital role in building a competitive and future-proof company, said Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Country Manager of Ørsted Poland.

In 2025, Ørsted marks 15 years of presence in Poland, coinciding with a critical phase in the development of its flagship offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea.

– This year we celebrate 15 years of Ørsted in Poland, a milestone that demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Polish market. At the same time, we are entering the offshore construction phase of our flagship project Baltica 2, which will deliver 1.5 GW of clean energy to approximately 2.5 million Polish households by 2027, she added.

Baltica 2 and Poland’s offshore wind ambitions

The Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, developed in partnership with PGE Baltica, is one of the largest offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea region and a cornerstone of Poland’s energy transition strategy.

I strongly believe that together we will continue to build an organization rooted in innovation, trust and collaboration, Staniewska-Bolesta concluded.

Agata Staniewska-Bolesta is an experienced executive and expert in energy, environmental policy and climate change. She specializes in political and regulatory analysis at both national and European levels.

She has been with Ørsted for over seven years and was the first offshore wind hire in Ørsted’s Polish subsidiary. She played a key role in negotiations with PGE Baltica leading to the partnership agreement for the Baltica offshore wind projects, signed on 6 May 2021, and the establishment of joint ventures with equal ownership.

Before joining Ørsted, she held senior positions at CEC Group and the Lewiatan Confederation. She is a graduate of the University of Warsaw (Environmental Protection Studies) and completed a climate change programme at the University of Melbourne.
