Ørsted launches recruitment for the operational phase of Baltica 2
Ørsted has initiated recruitment for the operational and maintenance (O&M) phase of Baltica 2, the largest offshore wind farm currently under development in Polish waters and delivered jointly with PGE. As the project approaches the start of its 30-year operational lifetime, the company plans to create around 60 specialized roles responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability and performance of the asset.

Building the O&M workforce ahead of commissioning
The first recruitment wave targets positions that require comprehensive training and offshore certification prior to the farm’s commissioning in 2027.
Ørsted has already filled several key leadership roles within the O&M organization, including:
- Head of Site,
- Head of HV & Transmission Operations,
- QHSE Advisor.
Current recruitment focuses on operational specialists such as turbine service technicians, high-voltage experts and control systems engineers. In 2026, the hiring process will expand to include planners, logistics and warehouse specialists, operational support coordinators as well as project and contract managers.
“Now is the right moment to enter the offshore wind sector”
- We aim to attract the best talent—professionals who want to build their careers in a rapidly developing sector of the Polish economy. Joining Baltica 2 means working for a global offshore leader with more than 30 offshore wind farms constructed across three continents, and contributing directly to the country’s energy transition, says Ulrik Lange, vice president and managing director of the Baltica 2 project at Ørsted.
- Working in the Baltica 2 operational team offers the opportunity to develop within an international environment shaped by Scandinavian work culture. It is an excellent moment to join a project that will fundamentally transform Poland’s energy system, adds Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, managing director of Ørsted Offshore Poland.
Baltica 2 enters a dynamic stage of offshore construction
Baltica 2 is advancing steadily toward offshore installation. The first batches of monopiles have been manufactured, and two of the four offshore substations have been completed, with the first transformer already installed. Onshore, construction continues at the grid connection substation in Osieki Lęborskie.
Two of the four HDD landfalls—enabling non-invasive export cable routing from sea to shore—have also been completed. Offshore installation works, including foundations, array and export cables, and wind turbines, are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026.
In parallel, Ørsted is developing its operations and maintenance base in Ustka, which will serve as the central hub for daily offshore operations, logistics, planning and monitoring throughout the wind farm’s lifetime.
Long-term impact on the region and workforce development
With at least three decades of O&M activities ahead, Ørsted’s presence will have a lasting impact on the Pomeranian region. Beyond technical positions, the project will generate engineering, logistical, planning and administrative opportunities. Ørsted’s European O&M experience shows that such bases become stable anchors of local labor markets and catalysts for new technical capabilities and supporting services.
Baltica 2: Poland’s flagship offshore wind project
With a planned capacity of up to 1.5 GW, Baltica 2 will become the largest offshore wind farm in Poland when it enters operation in 2027, supplying clean electricity to approximately 2.5 million households. The project forms part of the two-stage MFW Baltica development jointly delivered by Ørsted and PGE.
