A shared course towards the sea: KPH Group and the Polish Naval Academy join forces in education and maritime media

The Polish Naval Academy of the Heroes of Westerplatte in Gdynia has signed a framework cooperation agreement with KPH Group Sp. z o.o., opening a new chapter in the development of maritime education and the promotion of the maritime sector in Poland. The agreement was signed by the Rector-Commandant of the Academy, Rear Admiral Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht, and members of the Management Board of KPH Group – Kamil Kusier and Oskar Wojciechowski.

KPH Group is the publisher of Gazeta Morska, Daily Mare and the recruitment platform pracujnamorzu.pl – media outlets supporting discussion on maritime economy, security, education and the labour market.

The agreement establishes broad cooperation in educational, promotional and practical fields. Its scope includes the organisation of internships and traineeships for students, joint educational projects, workshops and simulations, as well as the co-organisation of industry events and initiatives promoting the Polish Naval Academy and the wider maritime sector.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Academy’s academic staff: Prof. Jerzy Kojkoł, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr Łukasz Wyszyński, Head of the Department of International Relations; and Dr Paweł Kusiak, Head of the Games and Simulations Laboratory.

- This cooperation has not only an institutional but also a symbolic dimension for the Academy, said Prof. Jerzy Kojkoł. - We particularly value partnerships built with our graduates. For students, this means greater access to practical experience and a better understanding of the professional realities of the maritime sector.

Dr Łukasz Wyszyński emphasised the strategic and communicative aspect of the partnership:

- The agreement creates an opportunity to better connect academic research and education with public communication. It also allows us to highlight the role of the Polish Naval Academy as a modern institution educating both future naval officers and civilian specialists for the maritime sector.

Focusing on the practical outcomes, Dr Paweł Kusiak noted:

- Joint workshops and simulation-based projects will enable students to work on real-world maritime challenges, particularly in decision-making, security and analytical contexts.

An important element of the agreement is the use of KPH Group’s media platforms. Gazeta Morska, Daily Mare and pracujnamorzu.pl will support joint educational and informational activities, as well as promote initiatives related to maritime education and careers.

- For us, cooperation with the Polish Naval Academy is both an honour and a responsibility,” said Kamil Kusier, Editor-in-Chief of Gazeta Morska and Daily Mare. - We aim to actively support educational projects, provide space for expert debate and strengthen public awareness of maritime issues and career opportunities.

The framework agreement lays the foundation for long-term cooperation focused on developing future maritime professionals, strengthening the position of the Polish Naval Academy, and enhancing the visibility of the maritime sector in Poland.
