Walery Tankiewicz appointed director of the Asset Management Centre at Port of Gdynia

The Port of Gdynia Authority has appointed Walery Tankiewicz as the new Director of the Asset Management Centre. His nomination was presented by Mirosław Czapiewski, Vice-President of the Management Board for Infrastructure and Asset Management, and approved by the remaining members of the Board as a candidate whose experience and competencies align with the port’s current strategic needs.

Tankiewicz is well known within the maritime and port sectors. Between 2000 and 2008, he served as Director for Infrastructure at the Port of Gdynia Authority, and from 2008 to 2016 as Vice-President for Infrastructure and Asset Management. During these years, he was responsible for the development, maintenance, and modernization of the port’s key infrastructure, including quays, access roads, and utilities.

After his previous tenure at the Port of Gdynia, he continued his professional career in the municipal sector, holding the positions of Vice-President and later President of PEWIK Gdynia, a company managing water supply and wastewater services for Gdynia and much of northern Kashubia.

Tankiewicz’s broad expertise in infrastructure operations, investment planning, and technical project management is expected to strengthen the Port of Gdynia’s capacity to manage its strategic assets and support future development projects.

His appointment reflects the Port of Gdynia Authority’s commitment to maintaining high standards in infrastructure management, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth as the port continues to expand its role as a key logistics hub in the Baltic region.
