The meeting between Polish minister of foreign affairs Radosław Sikorski and Japanese minister of foreign affairs Takeshi Iwaya concluded with the signing of an action plan for the implementation of the Polish-Japanese strategic partnership until 2029.

Polish-Japanese discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, including the preparation of agreements on social security, the mutual protection of classified information, and cooperation between space agencies.
The ministers discussed opportunities for collaboration in the defense industry, nuclear energy, transport infrastructure development, and the trade of agricultural and food products.
Minister Sikorski and minister Iwaya also deliberated on preparations for Expo 2025, defense and agri-food trade fairs, as well as the planned autumn visit of prime minister Donald Tusk.
During a working dinner, the ministers discussed prospects for peace in Ukraine and the situation in the Pacific region following the change in administration in Washington.
Minister Iwaya assured that Japan’s policy regarding Ukraine remains unchanged – Japan is committed to a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.
