Ørsted opens new Gdańsk office to support Baltica 2 offshore wind farm
Ørsted has officially opened a new office in Gdańsk’s Olivia Centre, which will serve as the planning and coordination hub for the construction of Baltica 2, Poland’s largest offshore wind farm.

A project of strategic scale
Developed jointly by Ørsted and PGE, Baltica 2 will deliver 1.5 GW of clean electricity – enough to power around 2.5 million Polish households. From Gdańsk, Ørsted’s project team of around 50 specialists will oversee key stages of the offshore construction phase, where the company acts as lead developer.
The team includes construction planners, GIS experts, crew change coordinators, and QHSE specialists, ensuring efficient execution of the project in close cooperation with local partners, ports, and service infrastructure.
Strategic location in the Baltic Sea hub
The choice of Olivia Centre was driven by accessibility and modern infrastructure. Located along Tricity’s main transport routes and near the airport, it offers excellent conditions both for the project team and international partners.

Ørsted has built more than 30 offshore wind farms across three continents, and now we are bringing this experience to the Polish market – said Ulrik Lange, Vice President and Managing Director of Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm at Ørsted.
Ørsted’s growing footprint in Poland
Ørsted has been active in Poland for 14 years, steadily expanding its operational and engineering capabilities. Its Warsaw office now employs more than 800 people representing 31 nationalities across six global functions: business development, engineering, IT, finance, procurement, and HR. Nearly half of the workforce – 46% – are women.

Driving regional growth and energy transition
Baltica 2 is already stimulating growth across the Pomeranian supply chain, creating new jobs and engaging local communities in the offshore energy transition. With 107 turbines delivering a combined 1.5 GW, the wind farm is expected to come online in 2027, marking a milestone in Poland’s clean energy transformation.
