ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania launches “Vistula Biodiversity Grant”
The ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania has unveiled a new grant program aimed at protecting biodiversity along the Vistula River and its tributaries. The initiative, titled “Vistula Biodiversity Grant”, will accept applications from 1 September to 31 October 2025, with a total budget of PLN 4 million.

The competition is open to NGOs, research institutions, schools, foundations, local governments, and community organizations. Individual projects may receive up to PLN 500,000 in funding.
– One of our priorities is supporting projects that safeguard biodiversity in Pomerania. The ‘Vistula Biodiversity Grant’ expands our activities, engaging us more strongly in environmental initiatives. Importantly, the program covers communities along the entire Vistula, not just our region, said Anna Oczoś, President of the ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania.
The program focuses on five core areas:
- restoration of aquatic ecosystems along the Vistula,
- protection of rare and endangered species,
- mitigating human impact on water quality,
- sustainable water resource management,
- biodiversity monitoring and research.
Funding will also support environmental education projects and innovative solutions contributing to ecological protection.
Applications can be submitted online via the ORLEN for Pomerania website. Results will be announced by 10 December 2025.
This is the Foundation’s second biodiversity-focused program this year. In March, nearly PLN 4 million was distributed under the “Baltic Biodiversity Grant”, supporting marine and coastal ecosystem protection in the Baltic Sea.
The ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania has been active for a decade, financing projects in education, culture, youth sports, healthcare, public safety, and the preservation of national heritage. Environmental protection remains one of its key strategic pillars.
