Modernization of Nadodrzanka is crucial for the efficient operation of the container terminal in Świnoujście

The expansion of the container terminal in Świnoujście is one of the key infrastructure projects in Poland, but its effective operation depends on efficient land transport. The government is taking concrete actions in this direction. Today, tenders have been announced for modernization work on the "Nadodrzanka" railway line, which connects Świnoujście with Szczecin and Wrocław. This investment will streamline container transport and open new logistical opportunities for the region and the entire country.

The scope of modernization includes the renovation of key sections of the route where so-called bottlenecks hinder the smooth flow of rail transport. Thanks to these actions, the transport of goods from Świnoujście to southern Poland and further to our neighbors will be faster and uninterrupted. The modernization will increase train speeds, improve safety at railway-road crossings, and adapt the infrastructure to the growing demand for intermodal transport.

The minister of infrastructure, Arkadiusz Marchewka, emphasizes that this investment is a priority for the government.

The efficient construction of the container terminal in Świnoujście is one thing, but the construction of infrastructure enabling its operation is another. We are carrying out both! – the minister stresses.

Over half a billion zlotys from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) have been allocated for the modernization of Nadodrzanka. These funds, unlocked by the current government, enable dynamic development and the strengthening of the country’s transport potential. As a result of this investment, the competitiveness of Polish ports will increase, and Świnoujście’s position as a key logistics hub in the Baltic Sea region will be reinforced.

The modernization works on the Świnoujście-Szczecin-Wrocław railway line represent another step towards a modern, efficient, and integrated transport network that will serve the Polish economy for years to come.
