Maritime All Souls’ Day. Honoring those who never returned from the sea

On the beach in Świnoujście, sailors from the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla joined local residents to commemorate those who never returned from watch on the world’s seas and oceans. The solemn ceremony paid tribute to all seafarers whose final resting place lies in the depths of the sea.

Similar commemorations were held in other coastal towns, including Rewa, where sailors from the 3rd Ship Flotilla took part, as well as in Sopot, where the ceremony was organized by the Seafarers’ Chaplaincy in Gdańsk. This long-standing maritime tradition remains a poignant expression of remembrance and respect for those who dedicated their lives to the sea.
