At graves and memorial sites, candles were lit and flowers laid — gestures of respect and gratitude for years of service to the Homeland and the sea.
At the MOSG Headquarters in Gdańsk Nowy Port, MOSG Commander, Rear Admiral SG Andrzej Prokopski, placed flowers and lit candles at the monument honoring the unit’s patron, Colonel Karol Bacz. A MOSG delegation also tended his grave and that of his spouse at the Northern Cemetery in Warsaw.
MOSG officers from Ustka, Słupsk, and Borzytuchom visited the graves of colleagues who tragically lost their lives, while officers from Władysławowo will commemorate the unit’s patron, General Józef Haller, and honor the defenders of Hel.
Sailors from the 8th Coastal Defence Flotilla and the 3rd Naval Flotilla paid silent tribute, letting the memory of those who served at sea and for the Homeland resonate amid the sound of wind and waves, keeping them forever in the hearts of the naval community.
- November is a time for reflection. A time when, with humility and gratitude, we bow our heads before our predecessors, heroes, and friends who gave their lives in the name of the highest values: peace and freedom, reported the Polish Navy.
May they rest in peace – on eternal watch.
