A European defense program and supply chain independence
During his speech, deputy prime minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the need to establish a European defense program that would ensure the security of supply chains for the defense industry and the independence of the sector in Poland and Europe.
- We need integration between the state and private industries. If such a large European program is launched, there must be entities capable of implementing it so that funds reach Poland and the countries most involved in securing NATO's eastern flank – emphasized the minister of national defense.
Priority: drones and artificial intelligence
The development of modern technologies in the defense industry, particularly in the fields of drones and artificial intelligence, became one of the most important topics of discussion. Deputy prime minister Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the expansion of drone forces and the production of aerial, ground, surface, and underwater drones across all military domains.
- Ukraine has proven that the mass use of drones on the modern battlefield is essential. In Poland, we must develop the capability for their large-scale production – he added.
Efficiency and timeliness in defense procurement
The minister of national defense highlighted the need to accelerate decision-making processes regarding investments in the defense industry.
- Investments in the armed forces cannot be subject to endless consultations and reviews. The timeliness of deliveries is a key issue for the military, which is why priority will be given to companies that guarantee fast, effective, and top-standard deliveries – Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized.
PPZ 2025 forum – foundations for public-private sector cooperation
The Polish defense industry forum is the first event of its kind, aiming to integrate civilian entities with the state sector. The meeting was attended by over 30 companies from the Polish Armaments Group and approximately 250 Polish entrepreneurs with the potential to collaborate with the national defense industry.
The event provided an opportunity for business discussions and experience exchange. Participants in expert panels and workshops debated the role of the Polish defense industry in the economy, cooperation between the public and private sectors, and strategies for strengthening defense capabilities on NATO’s eastern flank.
The PPZ 2025 forum aims to further develop synergies between defense sector entities, a key factor in enhancing Poland’s defense potential in the face of contemporary geopolitical challenges.
