The factory, originally launched in 2009 and expanded in 2017, will continue supplying blades for Vestas onshore turbines, including the V172-7.2 MW from the EnVentus platform.

Felix Henseler, Vestas Chief Technology and Operations Officer, commented:

- Strengthening our manufacturing capacity is key to meeting Europe’s demand for safe, affordable, and sustainable energy, while increasing our industrial competitiveness. Adding the Goleniów facility demonstrates our commitment to the wind industry and shows how Europe can drive investments and jobs through long-term policy support for wind energy.

Hanif Mashal, President of LM Wind Power, added:

- We are pleased to finalize the transfer of this plant to Vestas. This transaction allows us to simplify operations and reinvest capital into key European GE Vernova facilities to better serve our loyal customer base.

Around 400 LM Wind Power employees will remain with Vestas, bringing the company’s total workforce in Poland to nearly 2,000.

Vestas also operates an assembly facility in Szczecin, producing hubs and nacelles for the offshore V236-15.0 MW turbine. Together, both locations strengthen Vestas’ ability to serve both onshore and offshore wind markets in Europe and globally, while supporting local manufacturing and talent development to meet regional energy ambitions.
