– I am proud that Poles, including representatives of the younger generation, will be involved in key strategic discussions for sailing. World Sailing committees are the birthplace of new ideas, innovations, and the future of our sport. We have doubled the number of Polish representatives compared to the previous term, which is a tremendous success for Polish sailing. I congratulate all seven appointees and wish them a fulfilling and impactful journey in shaping global sailing – said Tomasz Chamera, Vice President of World Sailing.
The role of World Sailing Committees
World Sailing committees play a crucial role in reviewing and advising on policy changes within the federation. Each committee consists of up to 15 members who assess proposals and submit recommendations to the Council or Executive Board. Their work directly influences the future of global sailing.
In December, the World Sailing Board also finalized its internal division of responsibilities. Tomasz Chamera will oversee the Olympic Games, officiating matters, the medical and equipment committees, as well as collaborate with the racing rules and eSailing committees.
This milestone highlights Poland’s growing prominence in international sailing governance.
