- Russia continues to test our borders and ignores all our efforts toward peace. This is unacceptable. Russia must be stopped and brought to the negotiating table. Nicușor Dan posted on X. He stressed that Romania stands fully with Poland, a “strategic partner and ally,” and called for reinforced security across NATO’s eastern flank, from the Baltic to the Black Sea.

Bucharest has already taken steps to counter similar threats. Since May, Romanian law has authorized the shoot-down of drones violating its airspace, and last year, the country initiated regular F-16 patrol missions to deter and intercept Russian UAVs near NATO territory.

In Warsaw, Poland’s Operational Command confirmed that all potentially threatening objects were neutralized. Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the drones belonged to Russia’s armed forces, while Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz assured that Polish forces maintain full operational readiness for such incidents.

For Baltic and Black Sea nations, these repeated violations underscore the urgency of bolstering air defense networks, strengthening intelligence-sharing, and ensuring uninterrupted security for maritime trade routes that are vital to regional stability.
