"It was a good year at the Ministry of Infrastructure!" Deputy Minister Arkadiusz Marchewka stated while summarizing the last 12 months of his work at the ministry.
Among the achievements of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the minister highlighted the container terminal in Świnoujście.
"We signed a number of key agreements that accelerated the implementation of this crucial national investment," the minister said.
Arkadiusz Marchewka also mentioned the launch of a project to construct a grain terminal in Gdańsk, which will strengthen Poland's food security.
The minister also commented on the strong performance of Polish ports, including the one in Elbląg, which is awaiting progress on the road project connecting the city to the Vistula Spit canal.
"The largest ports in the country recorded profit growth compared to the previous year. We reached an agreement with the local government of Elbląg and are deepening the waterway to the port in that city. This will make the Vistula Spit canal fully functional," added Arkadiusz Marchewka.
The deputy minister also emphasized the construction of an installation terminal for offshore wind farms in Gdańsk, which became possible thanks to funding from the National Recovery Plan (KPO).
"With KPO funds, we are also modernizing regional ports such as Ustka, Łeba, and Darłowo. This will enable the establishment of service terminals for offshore wind farms. Moreover, we are building infrastructure for Poland’s first nuclear power plant—a new pier will allow for the direct unloading of the largest construction elements at the site," the minister explained.
Additionally, the Ministry of Infrastructure announced tenders for the construction of the Western Bypass of Szczecin.
"This project is particularly close to my heart, and I’m glad that this long-awaited route will finally be realized. Besides, tenders were announced for the second phase of the Warzymice and Przecław bypass and for the Kołbaskowo bypass," said Arkadiusz Marchewka, adding that he must also mention the launch of Pendolino service on the Szczecin-Warsaw route.
"This offers a completely new level of travel comfort. The new schedule, in addition to Pendolino, includes extra connections on this route, making it even easier to reach the capital," commented the Szczecin-born minister.
