Return to service with the Maritime Border Guard Unit. Experience meets mission
The Maritime Border Guard Unit (Morski Oddział Straży Granicznej) invites former officers to return to active duty. The service offers not only financial stability and competitive pay, but also the opportunity to continue a meaningful mission — protecting the state’s maritime borders and ensuring national security.

Former officers who previously obtained the required professional qualifications can rejoin under simplified recruitment procedures. Depending on the time since leaving the service, the process may include a qualification interview, medical evaluation, and — when necessary — security clearance procedures.
Those returning may be reinstated to permanent service or offered a contract-based position lasting from three to five years, with the option to apply for permanent service later. Importantly, former officers who are already retired retain their pension rights while serving under contract.
- Returning to service in the Maritime Border Guard Unit means not only resuming a professional path but also reaffirming one’s commitment to public duty. Experience gained at sea remains invaluable to our mission, says Tadeusz Gruchalla, spokesperson for the Maritime Border Guard Unit.
Full details and document requirements are available on the MOSG website.
