Polenergia and Equinor Continue Engagement with the Fishing Community - Upcoming Information Meetings Announced
Polenergia and Equinor are continuing their constructive dialogue with the local fishing community in connection with the development of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea. As part of this ongoing engagement, the companies are inviting commercial and recreational fishermen to attend upcoming information meetings scheduled for early July.

The meetings will focus on presenting a temporary compensation mechanism designed to support fishers operating within the fishing grid areas: L5, L6, L7, L8, M7, M8, N7, and N8.
Meeting Schedule:
- Łeba: July 3, 2025, 10:00–11:30
Baltic Offshore Wind Farms Information Centre, ul. Kościuszki 88 - Ustka: July 3, 2025, 15:00–16:30
Ustka Municipality Office, ul. Dunina 24 (Conference Room) - Jarosławiec: July 4, 2025, 10:00–11:30
Hotel Holiday Home, ul. Morska 4–6 (Conference Room)
These meetings mark the next phase in the collaboration between the developers and the regional fishing sector, aiming to identify fair and feasible ways to compensate for the potential impacts of offshore wind developments on fisheries, while also exploring possibilities for coexistence between both industries.
Earlier this year, in March, Equinor and Polenergia held six consultation sessions with fishers to present the initial assumptions behind the temporary compensation system and collect feedback based on fishing activity in the designated zones.
The July sessions will outline the key elements of the "Livelihood Restoration Plan for Marine Components" (LRP), including the provisional compensation framework for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III projects. This interim system is intended to operate during the construction phase and/or until national legislation establishes a permanent mechanism.
The LRP has been developed with direct input from previous stakeholder consultations. Both Polenergia and Equinor emphasize that the active participation and willingness of fishers to share their knowledge were crucial to shaping a meaningful and responsive support program.
Ongoing collaboration with the local Pomeranian communities remains a strategic priority for the developers, who are committed to transparency and open dialogue as they advance the implementation of Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farms.
The organizers encourage all interested stakeholders to attend and engage in these important discussions.
