PGE Baltica signs geophysical survey contract for Baltica 9 offshore wind project
PGE Baltica has signed a contract with Geofizyka Toruń S.A. for the execution of high-resolution seismic reflection surveys combined with bathymetric measurements for the Baltica 9 Offshore Wind Farm project. The geophysical campaign is a key step in the early-stage development process, enabling an initial assessment of the site's geological conditions in preparation for future auctions and eventual construction.

The survey area is located in the northern part of the Słupsk Bank, approximately 50 km offshore. Marine operations are scheduled to begin in early May and continue through mid-June 2025, with final analysis and data delivery expected by November this year.
The applied seismic methodology will allow for detailed characterization of the subsurface down to 100 meters, identifying potential geological risks such as shallow gas pockets, paleochannels, and glacial till layers.
Geofizyka Toruń S.A. was selected through an open tender process.
Baltica 9 is one of five seabed areas awarded to PGE in 2023. The project will span approximately 121 square kilometers, situated around 48 km off the coast, in close proximity to other offshore wind projects being developed by PGE and the new service port under construction in Ustka. The planned installed capacity for Baltica 9 is approximately 975 MW.
