PERN obtains AQAP 2110 certification. Poland’s fuel infrastructure aligns with NATO standards
PERN S.A. has been awarded the AQAP 2110 certificate, confirming compliance with the highest quality management standards required by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The certification represents an important milestone in preparing Poland’s fuel transmission infrastructure for integration with NATO’s allied pipeline systems, a key element of collective defence logistics and energy security.

The AQAP (Allied Quality Assurance Publication) certificate, issued by the Quality Certification Centre at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw (CCJ WAT), confirms that PERN’s quality management system, security procedures and process reliability meet international standards applicable to organisations delivering projects for NATO defence and security structures. In recent weeks, CCJ WAT conducted a comprehensive audit at PERN, which concluded with a positive result and no non-conformities identified.
– Obtaining the AQAP 2110 certificate proves that PERN is very well prepared to deliver the most demanding projects – not only from the perspective of Poland’s security, but also NATO’s – said Piotr Gryska, Vice President of PERN, during the certificate presentation. – The positive assessment is the result of the professionalism and commitment of our employees. It also confirms that the high standards of quality and reliability developed at PERN – already validated by numerous other certifications – are fully aligned with NATO requirements, he added.
AQAP 2110 applies to organisations involved in the design, development and delivery of products and services for defence, security and strategic infrastructure. Certification guarantees that processes are conducted in a systematic, controlled and fully traceable manner, in line with international norms. For NATO-related projects, AQAP certification is a prerequisite – without it, participation in allied programmes would be impossible or significantly limited.
From a business and operational perspective, the certification also provides assurance to PERN’s partners and contractors.
– For our counterparties, the AQAP certificate is another objective confirmation that PERN operates in accordance with the most stringent quality and security standards – as a proven and reliable entity capable of delivering projects with a high level of operational responsibility – explained Danuta Paduch, Director of the Operational Excellence Division at PERN and the company’s Government Quality Assurance (GQA) Management Representative.
The certificate was formally presented during a ceremony at PERN’s headquarters in Warsaw. On behalf of the Quality Certification Centre at the Military University of Technology, the document was handed over by Dr Eng. Joanna Jasińska, Director of CCJ WAT, highlighting the role of AQAP certification in ensuring interoperability and security across NATO-related infrastructure projects.
The AQAP 2110 certification forms part of PERN’s broader strategy to strengthen its role as an operator of critical infrastructure with international relevance. In October 2025, PERN S.A. and the NATO Infrastructure Investment Organisation (NIIO / ZIOTP) signed a preliminary cooperation agreement for the expansion of Poland’s fuel infrastructure aimed at connecting it to NATO’s pipeline system. The project is of key importance for enhancing national resilience, energy security and the logistical capabilities of both the Polish Armed Forces and allied forces operating in the Baltic Sea region.
