The Maritime Border Guard Unit in Gdańsk invites you to a special event – an open day, which will take place on 29 April from 10:00 to 14:00 at the headquarters located at 35 Oliwska Street in Gdańsk. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the daily work of officers serving at Poland’s maritime borders, see specialized equipment, and find out how the recruitment process into the formation looks like.

The open day at the Maritime Border Guard Unit offers a firsthand look at what the service in Gdańsk entails, the tools and techniques used, and the path to becoming a border guard officer.
What you will see during the open day in Gdańsk
The organizers have prepared a rich program with attractions for everyone, including:
- a presentation of means of direct coercion and firearms used in daily service,
- a demonstration of the RIB combat boat,
- a live display of bomb disposal units, featuring a bomb disposal robot and an EOD suit,
- workshops on combating human trafficking, complemented by an educational film,
- a demonstration of a service dog trained to detect narcotics,
- a showcase of forensic techniques and investigative equipment,
- a presentation of specialized technical equipment, such as thermal imaging cameras, night vision goggles, and endoscopes,
- an exhibition of vehicles and gear of the Kashubian Border Guard Division,
- live demonstrations of basic first aid techniques.
The event will also feature a performance by the Maritime Border Guard Unit Orchestra from Gdańsk, including a ceremonial drill show.
There will be a dedicated recruitment stand for those interested in joining the Maritime Border Guard, as well as promotional stands from the Border Guard Academy in Koszalin, the Institute of National Remembrance – Gdańsk Branch, and the Museum of the Second World War.
