Maersk Gironde scheduled for repairs at Nauta Shiprepair Yard

The vessel was involved in a collision on 5 August 2025 in the Danish Straits with the Ro-Ro vessel SFL Composer. Maersk Gironde was sailing from Wilhelmshaven to Gdańsk, while SFL Composer was en route to a shipyard in Odense. Both ships sustained damage above the waterline, but no injuries or fuel spills were reported.
After being unloaded at Baltic Hub in Gdańsk, Maersk Gironde entered Nauta on 12 August to begin repair works. Planned interventions include hull plating replacement and structural work in the deck and superstructure areas.
The arrival of Maersk Gironde highlights Nauta’s capacity to handle full Panamax-sized vessels, underlining the yard’s role in the Baltic and North Sea container ship maintenance market. Once repairs are complete, the vessel is expected to resume its scheduled container service operations.
