Katarzyna Domańska becomes the new president of the Polish Yachting Association
The board of the Polish Yachting Association (PZŻ) has approved the recommendation of Katarzyna Domańska to serve as the acting president of PZŻ until the end of the current term. This decision follows the resignation of Tomasz Chamera, who stepped down as PZŻ president after being elected vice president of the world sailing federation, World Sailing.

Katarzyna Domańska, formerly PZŻ vice president for general sport and training, has been actively involved in the development of Polish sailing for many years. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the association's structures will enable her to effectively manage the organization during this transitional period. The key task of the new president will be to ensure the smooth operation of the association until the reporting and election assembly, scheduled for April 12, 2025, in Warsaw. During the assembly, delegates will elect a new president and a new board of PZŻ.
Tomasz Chamera, who led the Polish Yachting Association for the past eight years, emphasizes that his resignation is a result of new regulations introduced by World Sailing. Although discussions about the interpretation of these rules are still ongoing, Chamera decided to take this step to ensure the stability and functionality of PZŻ ahead of the upcoming elections.
The new PZŻ president will face many challenges, but her appointment has received full support from the board. Katarzyna Domańska has announced her commitment to continuing key projects and supporting Polish sailors in their preparations for upcoming sporting events.
"I have a great challenge ahead of me, but I am ready to take on this responsibility. I thank the board for their trust, and we look forward to fruitful cooperation for the benefit of Polish sailing," said Katarzyna Domańska after the decision was announced.
The PZŻ reporting and election assembly in April 2025 will be a crucial moment for the future of Polish sailing. Until then, Katarzyna Domańska will lead the association, ensuring its stability and further development.
