Grupa Azoty integrates the logistics area within the entire capital group

The Management Board of Grupa Azoty has adopted a resolution approving the concept of integrating logistics areas within the Grupa Azoty Capital Group. In the next steps, a dedicated team will work on the target integration model. The work will consider the possibilities of centralizing the logistics area.

As part of this process, recommendations will also be developed regarding the Group’s logistics-related companies and the potential for outsourcing logistics processes within the Group. The approval of the logistics integration action plan in Grupa Azoty is scheduled for Q3 2025.

The concept of integrating the logistics area has been developed as a result of strategic initiatives within the Azoty Business Program.

- For several months now, we have been emphasizing that logistics areas will play a much more significant role in Grupa Azoty’s business than before. We are referring to both our port facilities—where partnerships with companies interested in importing specific raw materials will be a key aspect—and our railway infrastructure. We are changing our approach to logistics, moving away from using our assets almost exclusively for the Capital Group’s needs. We see great potential in this area for generating revenue from external services, and Grupa Azoty is best positioned to be a leader in importing ammonia to Poland, possessing the country’s only marine ammonia transshipment terminal, said Andrzej Dawidowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A., responsible for logistics, and President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Police.

- The Port in Police is of great importance to us, where we are implementing a project to build a railway connection with a siding to open the port to external customers, added Andrzej Dawidowski.

Grupa Azoty’s logistics assets include, among others, the railway company Grupa Azoty Koltar, seaports in Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Police, as well as an extensive logistics infrastructure within the Group’s individual companies and the LHS transshipment terminal at Grupa Azoty Siarkopol.

In recent days, the Police-based plants of the Group signed an agreement on the development of the Grupa Azoty Seaport area in Police. The agreement was signed with the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Office, the Police County Office, the Police Municipal Office, and the Police Seaport Authority. It concerns more than 300 plots covering a total area of over 460 hectares. The expected outcome of the agreement is an increase in the economic potential and attractiveness of the designated areas as an investor-friendly location, as well as an increase in competitiveness in the regional labor market. The undertaken actions aim to boost revenues through port handling operations, leases, port services, and increased local fees.

In the context of the growing role of logistics within Grupa Azoty, it is worth recalling the funding of over €33 million granted in October last year by the European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency for an investment undertaken by the Police Seaport Authority. The goal of this project is to enhance the port’s accessibility from both land and sea and to improve transshipment efficiency. The planned completion date for this investment is Q1 2028.
