Elenger, the largest private energy group in the Baltic-Finnish region, has officially entered the Polish LNG bunkering market. The operation involved 139 m³ of LNG supplied via three of Elenger’s tank trucks directly to the ferry’s cryogenic fuel system. The bunkering followed extensive technical preparations, including system tests certified by DNV, and cooling of the LNG tank to -130°C using liquid nitrogen.

The NB101 ferry, designed to carry 400 passengers and vehicles, features dual-fuel engines (LNG/diesel) expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 25% compared to conventional propulsion. The LNG delivery enabled final engine room testing during Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT) ahead of upcoming sea trials.

- This milestone demonstrates Elenger’s commitment to supporting cleaner maritime transport in the Baltic region, said Marius Kairys, CEO of Elenger Sp. z o.o. - With our dedicated LNG fleet and experienced team, we provide shipowners with reliable, safe and sustainable fuel solutions — now also in Poland.

Elenger brings to the Polish market a strong track record of over 6,000 LNG bunkering operations across Tallinn, Helsinki, Hanasaari and Hanko, as well as ship-to-ship services via its LNG bunkering vessel Optimus.

Already established as Poland’s second-largest private gas network operator, Elenger is now positioning itself as a comprehensive LNG supplier for maritime, industrial and heating sectors, delivering fuel, infrastructure, and advisory services to support the region’s energy transition.
