Cyberattack on the Polish Space Agency. "POLSA's network was disconnected from the internet"

The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) has fallen victim to a cyberattack. As a result of the incident, unauthorized access to the agency's telecommunication infrastructure was detected. According to the agency, immediate measures were taken to secure the data, and POLSA's network was disconnected from the internet.

Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski confirmed attack.

- State authorities responsible for cybersecurity detected unauthorized access to the telecommunication infrastructure of the Polish Space Agency. As a result of the incident, the compromised systems have been secured. CSIRT NASK, in collaboration with CSIRT MON, is supporting POLSA in efforts to restore the agency's operational functionality. Intensive operational measures are also being conducted to identify the perpetrators of the cyberattack. Further updates on this matter will be provided as the situation develops, said Krzysztof Gawkowski.

The Polish Space Agency also issued a statement, stating: "A cybersecurity incident has occurred at POLSA. The relevant authorities and institutions have been notified. An analysis of the situation is underway. To secure data following the breach, POLSA's network was immediately disconnected from the Internet. We will continue to keep the public informed."

An analysis is currently being conducted to assess the scope of the breach and identify the source of the attack. Operational support in this matter is being provided by the Computer Security Incident Response Teams CSIRT NASK and CSIRT MON, which are responsible for the cybersecurity of key systems in Poland.
