COSCO SHIPPING Secures New Airbus Logistics Deal for Tianjin A320 Line
At the Paris Air Show, COSCO SHIPPING signed a new logistics agreement with the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, securing its role in supporting Airbus’ second A320 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Tianjin, China. This marks a new milestone in the long-term partnership between the two companies. Since 2008, COSCO SHIPPING has served as Airbus’s strategic logistics partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

Renowned for setting global benchmarks in oversized cargo logistics, COSCO SHIPPING was the first company in the world to introduce marine transport of large aircraft components using container vessels. Key aircraft sections—including fuselages, wings, and other structural parts—travel over 20,000 kilometers from Hamburg to Tianjin. The multimodal journey takes approximately 41 days, involving ocean freight, inland transportation, and highly coordinated port operations.
The expansion of Airbus’ production capacity in Asia underscores the growing strategic importance of the region in the global aerospace supply chain.
